I Miss You

This day last year was the happiest day of my life. I spent the entire lunch hour sat in the college library with the most amazing girl in the world (no offense to the rest of you). We were talking, laughing, joking around about how I am the next Steven Spielberg... It was bliss... It was the best lunch hour I've ever had, and I didn't even get to lunch!

But I haven't seen her or spoken to her since August 30th... She's even blocked me on Facebook! I'm not sure why, maybe she misunderstood the message I sent her that said I was going to miss her becuase she'd been a great friend to me... I don't know, but it sure does hurt.

I don't know if I ever would have seen her again anyway, but that's hardly the point. She was the loveliest girl in the world (no offense to the rest of you), and the only girl I've ever gone out of my way just to sit with, the only girl I've ever had my own private jokes with, the only girl I've ever felt truly comfortable with.

I miss you.

Relegation??

What a bad afternoon... Margate lost 4-1. That means relegation... unless a team in a higher league pulls out of the league, or goes bankrupt. So, we don't know if we're down or not! And we may not know for a couple of months! Lovely!

I'm gutted. I was hoping for a better result than that. Margate were terrible today, and on that performance they deserved to go down...

Oh well, at least we beat Ramsgate, who have finished bottom, and by some distance...

Girls and Boys...

Yesterday was an important day to everyone in the whole world. It was the day that all the pretty girls find out if they have been pretty enough, and for guys, well it was the day where we can't feel ashamed for drooling over pretty pictures of pretty women - FHM announced their 100 sexiest women of 2009...

It is of course void, because as usual the pranksters voted. Lily Allen is in it, and only two places below Sarah Harding, and Anna Friel, Elisha Cuthbert and Kristin Kreuk have made the top ten! As I am appalled by this, I've come up with my own top ten. It is very different. The numbers in brackets show their FHM positions:

1 - Taylor Swift (76)
2 - Nadine Coyle (57)
3 - Sarah Harding (87)
4 - Jessica Stroup (-)
5 - Megan Fox (2)
6 - Christina Milian (-)
7 - Kaley Cuoco (-)
8 - Nadine Velazquez (-)
9 - Ana Ivanovic (11)
10 - Natasha Kaplinsky (-)

That's right, five of them aren't in the FHM list at all! Either I have weird taste, or everyone who voted was high at the time...

Anyway, tomorrow is even more important than yesterday was - it's the last day of the Ryman Premier League season, and it's do or die for my boys, Margate. Well, it could be do and die... Margate have to win tomorrow against the team who have already secured 2nd place, and hope that either Hastings or Boreham Wood lose so that they can avoid relegation. It's a tough task, and basically our fate lies in the hands of other teams. It's scary, and I'm so nervous. I don't think I'll be getting much sleep tonight!

PS - I do have hot water again now! It's awesome!

Cold Water

My boiler's broken, and the gas-man is no help at all. He popped round on Wednesday to diagnose the problem and cameback Thursday to fix it. But on Thursday he decided there was another problem, so he came back today to fix that. And guess what? He fixed that, but then decided that there is yet another part that needs fixing...

It's so annoying! Why didn't he find all the faults when he came on Wednesday? Surely all the broken parts are right next to each other. I mean, this boiler isn't that big. It's about the same size as the kitchen's wall mounted cupboards.

Anyway, dad's decided to replace the whole boiler this time. Only problem is that it's Easter. We're now not going to be able to get someone to come around to discuss our boilers with us until Tuesday, and then we'll have to wait who knows how long for the new boiler to actually be fitted...

So it looks like cold showers for me and the family for the next few days. What joy!

Immortality

My auntie died today. They haven't finished the post-mortem yet, so I don't know why she died, but she did... Well, her mortal life did anyway...

I'm not gonna start spouting loads of religious nonsense, because I don't believe any of that reincarnation stuff, and I have no idea whether there is an afterlife or not, but I think of memories as a form of immortality...

What I mean is that she lives on in my heart and in my memories, just like the only other person I know who has died. I've been quite lucky, I've not had many deaths to deal with, and no funerals to attend. This is probably a bad thing in the long run, as everyone will suddenly go at the same time. That'll suck. Big time.

But back to my immortality theory... Basically, I feel that for as long there is someone alive who can think of you and remember you, you are never truly gone from this world. And all those famous inventors and scientists and scholars and kings etc... All those people who have left something behind, whether it be great or small, they are immortal in history books, and in the inventions that influence our everyday lives, and in photographs and potraits, and subsequenly in the imaginations of young children as they learn about them in school, and in the imaginations of tourists who wonder at their architechture and cathedrals...

As far as I'm concerned, nobody is ever truly dead until every last trace of them has been lost in the depths of time...

Rest in peace Auntie P
